This is a basic introduction to the theory and practice of classic Transactional Analysis; TA, as developed by Eric Berne M.D., in the late 1960's. TA is a theory of personality and human interaction based on the three ego states; Parent, Adult and Child. Transactions refer to the communication exchanges between people. When you learn to recognize which ego states people are transacting from and to follow the sequences, you learn to intervene and improve the quality and effectiveness of communiucation. "We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then , is not an act, but a habit"- Aristotle. Due to the neuroplasticity of the brain, using new language is a scientific method to rewire and change old habits of thinking and communicating. When applied, these tools help create positive change for individuals, personal relationships and in the work environment.
