Vinyasa power yoga combines flow and static asanas (poses) to increase strength, flexibility and balance.  A focus on rhythmic breathing linked to movement throughout the practice helps improve relaxation and reduce stress.  This class is suitable for all levels of ability and experience.  Class requires only a yoga mat and comfortable, loose clothing. Learn legal and safe methods of handling and firing weapons using advanced techniques. Includes demonstration, discussion, and practice. Prerequisite: Participation in the Advanced Firearms class requires the successful completion of the Basic Firearms class and the concurrence of both firearms instructors. Students must furnish their own handgun (instructor must approve the weapon), holsters, ammunition, and related equipment. Materials fee is $20 and is paid to SDPR on the first day of class.

Learn a contemporary approach to the fine art and craft of fusing glass to copper. Beginning, intermediate and advanced students are welcome. Beginning students will learn basic enameling techniques. Each session may focus on one or more advanced techniques. All students are welcome to participate in the advanced techniques. Intermediate and advanced students may work independently on their own projects with consultation from the instructor. Some creative projects can be jewelry, wall art, copper bowls and plates. Closed  toe shoes are required to be worn in the classroom.The $25 materials fee is included in the cost of the course.

Singing for Beginners is a fun, affordable introduction to singing, and is open to everyone. This singing class starts at the beginning and guides students, step by step, in the art of singing.  The course includes vocal and body warm-ups, and relaxation techniques that aide in proper body positioning for healthy breathing and voice placement. Students learn voice and breathing techniques and exercises that can lead to vocal control, strength, health and longevity. It can be used both by people buying their first home and by people wanting to buy a home after experiencing a bankruptcy, foreclosure or short sale. NO CLASS ON 2/17/18 We have student parking in level P2 located underground at the Cesar E Chavez Campus at 1901 Main Street. To access the underground parking, head south on Main St. and turn right into the driveway behind the campus.  We also have a parking structure located at 1902 National Ave. Permits are required for both places. Parking permits are $10 and are available at the campus. Parking permits are not required for Saturday classes.

Coffee is one of the top traded commodities in the world. Specialty coffee sales are increasing by 20% per year and the craft of coffee is growing in popularity and innovation. Deciding what bag of coffee or drink to purchase can be challenging and intimidating. This course will strengthen your knowledge of coffee by providing a forum for the home brewer, coffee enthusiast, and coffee professional to learn the basics of the coffee industry.  Gain an understanding of the origins, production processes, growing regions, and coffee varietals. Students will learn to define the flavor wheel in order to develop their pallet and identify the key elements that are crucial in all brewing methods. This course is a stepping stone for individuals to expand their coffee knowledge and become confident with any coffee purchase made. Coffee sampling will be held every class.
